indulge me....

... for I need to let off a bit of steam.

I am feeling to urge to have a special t-shirt made just for me. It would say "no, I don't know what we're having (but hey, if it's a baby then that's fine by me)".

I think the "do you know what you're having" question has been a bit of a surprise to me especially as that's something I've never asked expecting parents. I suppose it's because for me personally I don't like the idea of finding out so why should I ask others? Almost everyone we see asks us that question so you can see why it's wearing thin. It's also interesting to note the amount of people who, after we've said we don't know what we're having, have then said "good, I hate it when people find out"....... so does that mean they'd hate me if we knew?

Sorry, the irony of these things stands out like a sore thumb at times.

Anyways, I shan't do this again I promise. Here's a pair of little things I finished a couple of weeks ago, I found the pattern here.
They'd be even cuter if the photo wasn't so blurry. Sorry....

  2. I adore red and white polka-dots with a passion, so these little booties are just the greatest little booties I have ever seen! (And I never wanted to know whether I was having a boy or a girl either. But the thing that drove me crazy was every male this side of the pacific wanting to rub my belly. Ugh!)

  3. I love the booties. What a lucky little one to have such a talented Mom. We also wanted a surprise at the birth of our children. I do know what you mean about not asking. We never did either. It is a miracle to us-what more was there to say. Glad you vented. You are in great company.
    Take care,
    Debra

  6. Jen, I feel for you.

The thing I hated, was people touching my tummy, without my permission. Who do they think they are? I so wanted to touch their tummies and see how they felt!

Love the booties! This will be one well dressed baby, no matter what gender it is!

  8. I know what you mean about the intrusive questioning when people see a pregnant belly. That one and "WAS IT PLANNED?" were the ones that got up my nose constantly... I mean.... WHO's baby is it??? Who's business...?
